Love it or hate it, running is a worldwide phenomenon and is the exercise of choice for millions of people across the globe. Not only is it free, accessible and undeniably good for your body, it’s also proven to improve your mental health. The brand-new adidas campaign shines a light on why people run and what “fast” means to them. The iconic brand recently commissioned a survey of 6000 runners from a variety of countries to discover what running means to them personally and how important it is to their day-to-day life. And the results are undeniably empowering.
Being released alongside the “Faster Than _” campaign is three new adidas sneakers. The one that stands out is the brand-new adidas SL20. Designed to be ultra-responsive and deliver unparalleled forefoot acceleration courtesy of a recalibrated torsion bar, this trainer is meticulously designed to combine comfort with continuous heel support to keep you stable on daily runs.
The aim of the adidas “Faster Than _” campaign is to completely redefine what “fast” means. The brand is proving that not all runners are doing so to achieve a new personal best, but some are running to feel healthier. Out of 6000 runners asked, 60% agreed that regular running provides mental health benefits, 87% admitted that they run with a focus on personal betterment and 68% revealed that it’s the only time they have away from their phone.
Backing the adidas “Faster Than _” campaign is a list of inspirational runners – including Ellie Lacey, an emergency liver transplant survivor turned World Champion Racer – and their stories are being shared via video where they will define what “fast” means to them. The adidas “Faster Than_” social episodes go live on the 23rd February and the adidas SL20 sneaker that accompanies the campaign can be copped at adidas on the 27th February.
